Lawrence M. Heim, CPEA

Mr. Heim is a Managing Director located in Georgia. He has 30 years of experience with environmental and sustainability management, auditing and risk management serving clients from many manufacturing sectors.

Mr. Heim has led and performed many aspects of environmental/sustainability management activities, including program reviews, performance measurement and indicator selection, interdepartmental and management-level coordination, communication and training,  risk assessment, cost accounting and economic valuation.  Mr. Heim is also a BEAC Certified Professional Environmental Auditor and has conducted more than 550 compliance/management systems audits in the US, Canada, Latin America and Europe.

Voted as a Top 100 Conflict Minerals Influencer in 2015 and 2016, Mr. Heim is also a leading expert in conflict minerals programs under Section 1502 of the US Dodd-Frank Act, and related frameworks. He was the only environmental/sustainability consultant invited by the US Securities and Exchange Commission to be a panelist at the October 2011 Conflict Minerals Roundtable in Washington DC, and has provided technical support on the subject to retail, distribution and manufacturing clients as well as industry associations/groups.

He has been a resource for Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, BNABloomberg, ThomsonReuters, Foreign Policy Magazine, The Verge, the American Bar Association,, EICC’s Conflict Free Sourcing Initiative, the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), ITRI, the US Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, The Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, IPC (a leading electronics industry association) and the Pac-West Fastener Association.  Mr. Heim also serves on the Advisory Board of various conflict minerals programs and studies, including the Better Sourcing Program.
