OECD Seeks Input from Small and Medium Sized Companies on Conflict Minerals Due Diligence Implementation

The German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), supported by the OECD,  just launched a survey “to assess the contribution of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) to due diligence for responsible mineral supply chains.”  SME’s are defined as having less than 250 employees and less than 50€ million annual turnover.

Survey participation is limited to downstream conflict minerals users in the automotive, electronics/ICT, medical technology, and jewelry industries.  The intent is for OECD to better understand the challenges, concerns and best practices within the SME community.

The survey is being conducted by the consulting firm Estelle Levin.
